I’m lost!

I wanted to run somewhere different to the usual caravan park and across the road to the east side of Loch Loskin. The weather was settled so I suggested a visit to Ardyne.
The ramblings of Lynne Walker,
an orienteering coach (amongst many other things)

A wee while since I posted on the Blog – what message does that give people? Does it mean that
1. I suffer from SAD and so am unable to get going and do anything when the long winter darkness is here? Nope, I am generally happy no matter the time of year.
2. I am a bit lazy and so have not bothered to do anything? Well, there is some truth in this statement.
3. I’ve been ill? A week was lost in February with a heavy cold but that should not stop me writing. March – see the next article for this!
4. Busy with work? A lot of truth in this one – read on!
5. A holiday? Yes, this as well which will be written about in the next article.

This annual race is great fun and a bit quirky. The 2010 race took place on Sunday 16th January 2011. Blame the snow and ice in December. However the change of date meant that Paul & I could enter. Carol was relieved at this as she could then have a lift between locations!

2011 – yet again I would like to become a little fitter. This means doing more exercise and maybe reducing the vast volume of food intake so that the running becomes easier if I lose some weight.

This is a reflective look back at October 2010, written at the start of January 2011. Why the delay? Well, life has been a bit busy and so other things have taken priority (that does sound a lot better than saying I’ve been lazy!).
This was a month of some time here and some time there. There was Boat of Garten, coaching and assessing orienteering – as well as having a break. Here was well, here – and painting.

There was an opportunity to go orienteering every weekend and we took the lot!

You would have thought that five days of orienteering racing in the Lakes would be enough – but no, Paul & Lynne entered the last of the Clyde urban races. This one was based close to the Kelvinhall Art Gallery & Museum and so easy to get to on a Sunday morning. This was the area that was used for a Park World Tour event in the late 1990’s.

A contingent of six folks from EckO headed for this event 22nd – 27th August 2010. This was during the school term in Scotland so no EckO families were able to attend. Andy & Marieke, Alan, Carol, Paul & Lynne headed for ‘Carol’s house’ just north of Penrith. The event centre was Coniston, so there was quite a bit of travelling a couple of the days.
