It’s official – Retirement is fun!

Monday 1st March 2010, pull back the curtains about 8am and it’s a wall-to-wall-blue-sky-day-with-no-wind. Try saying that without taking breath! We both thought that we must get out on a day like this. What to do? Would probably be walking somewhere, but there was quite a lot of snow above 100m. We did not want to drive too far so we narrowed things down and eventually decided that the hill above Benmore Gardens – A’Chruach – would be the best bet.

It sounded like a good idea!

Like most ideas I have, I think they sound great when I first propose them.

The problem comes if anyone else agrees with me at that stage and things are taken a step further – by which time I am usually not so sure about the original idea.

Deeside Hill walking and Running week

Will we go sea kayaking in the Raasay / east Skye area or will we go hill-walking around Deeside? This was the question we discussed with our friends Chris & Barbara in mid-July. The weather forecast kept changing and we eventually decided on Deeside as it looked a little unsettled for the sea kayaking.
